First Steps

1.  Let Us Know Something About You

When you visit, fill out the Connect Card tear-off. These are found in the program you can receive from our greeters when you walk  in the worship center or chapel. On Sunday mornings, we encourage you to stop by the Connect Center where you will find a Connect team member there to provide you with an informational folder, answer any questions you might have and assist you in locating childcare, the children’s wing, youth building and Sunday morning Bible study groups.

2.  Come to Our Next Newcomers Dinner

We invite you to come hang with the pastors at this very informal dinner. Check with the church office to see when the next one is and let us know if you are coming so we can prepare for you.

3.  Attend Worship Regularly

Make worshiping at Independence Hill part of your weekly routine. Through regular attendance you will connect with other people here and grow together in your knowledge and faith.  See Worship Services

4.  Try Out a Small Group Bible Study

This is one of the most important steps you can take if you want to really connect at IHBC.  There are groups for every age and multi-generational groups meeting at the church on Sunday morning at 9:45. Together they share life and study the Bible. One of those groups would be a good fit and you are welcome to try several until you find the right one for you. See groups

5.  Sign-up for Connect Class

This 3 week class is offered quarterly on Sunday at 9:45 am.  Connect Class is taught by the senior pastor Todd Marlin. This class will acquaint you with IHBC – what we believe, where we’re going, and how things work at IHBC. We urge all people seeking membership at IHBC to attend this class.

6.  Join the Church

The commitments we make define our lives and membership in a local church is an important part of the Christian experience. The Bible is clear that we all need a church family. God never intended for any of His children to be orphans. When the time is right and you feel comfortable, we would love to invite you to commit to being a part of IHBC.

7.  Get Involved

God has given you special abilities that He intends for you to use to help other people.  We can help you discover the place where you can plug in and use your gifts to help others and make a difference in the church and in the community. Nothing helps build strong new friendships like being on a team.
