The mission of the Women's Ministry: To teach, affirm and encourage women in their Christian faith as part of the body of Christ.
Upcoming Events:
Women's Summer Bible Study & Concurrent Kids' Program Begins June 27, 2013
For summer we are going to offer two different studies. Both are 6 weeks long. Begins June 27th 9:30am-11:00am
Both studies are book based, with no video and very light homework. All women invited. We often have women from many different churches joining us.
1. "Unglued" by Lysa Terkeurst
Making wise choices in the midst of raw emotions, instead of coming undone! In her gut-honest and humorous way, Lysa inspires and teaches how to resolve conflict, find peace in our most difficult relationships, identify what type of reactor we are, and manage our tendencies to stuff or explode when others bump into our happy place.
2. "A Lineage of Grace" by Francine Rivers
"Fictional book based on the biblical lives of 5 unlikely women who God chose to change eternity: Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba, and Mary." Although these women lived in ancient times, their stories apply to our lives and the difficult issues we face in our world today. They were on the edge. They had courage. They took risks. They did the unexpected. They lived daring lives, and sometimes they made mistakes – big mistakes. These women were not perfect, and yet God in His infinite mercy used them to bring forth the Christ, the Savior of the world!
Thursday Morning Kids' Program – We are excited to be offering a kids' program this summer for moms in Bible study. This program for children ages birth through completed 5th grade will feature age appropriate Bible study and activities. Make sure you register your kids when you register yourself with our easy on line form.

God is at work in our “Wrapped in Love” Prayer Shawl Ministry! Our ladies are busy making shawls, lap blankets, along with baby blankets or scarves as needed. We are gifting internally within our IHBC family as requests are made/needs are identified and we are also partnering with external organizations (HYAETS, Levine-Dickson Hospice House, and the Outpatient Infusion Center at Presbyterian Hospital in Huntersville) to supply gifts. Prayers for the recipients are woven throughout the items, and Pastor Todd, Judy Murphy and Rosemary Winter (from our Prayer Ministry) join us monthly to pray over the gifts, for recipients, and for the ladies of our ministry. We have completed a whopping 60 items since our kickoff in late October, and half of those have already been gifted.
"Wrapped in Love" meets Tuesdays in Room 502, alternating weekly between morning and evening sessions to accommodate schedules.
If you have questions, would like to participate, or would like to request a shawl/lap blanket for someone, contact Dora Johnson (doradjohnson@roadrunner.com) or Bonnie Craig (bonniecraig22@gmail.com). We also will graciously accept love offerings in the forms of cash, check (payable to IHBC, noting allocation to Prayer Shawl Ministry), or gift cards to Jo-Ann, Michaels, or Hobby Lobby.
