About Us

A little about IHBC…

Independence Hill exists to provide a community of faith where all are encouraged to experience a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, grow in discipleship, and engage in active ministry to others. Our mission is making disciples through worshipping, growing, serving and sharing. IHBC currently has over 550 members. We offer two Sunday worship services with the average attendance of about 250 each week and the Sunday School for all ages is 200. In addition to worship IHBC has programs and ministries for every age group – children, youth, adults, senior adults.

Independence Hill Baptist Church (IHBC) was founded on October 21,1872. Our name was chosen in honor of the nearby historical site where the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence was conceived and preserved, a full year before ratification of the national Declaration of Independence.

IHBC supports various mission efforts through voluntary affiliations with Baptist Metrolina Ministries and North Carolina State Baptist Convention. We also participate in the Lottie Moon and Annie Armstrong offerings.

We allow the Korean Christian Fellowship Church to hold their services in our building on Sunday afternoons.

IHBC is located at 10220 Independence Hill Road (formerly Eastfield Rd) in Huntersville, North Carolina, just north of Charlotte. 28078
