FAQ

Welcome to Independence Hill Baptist Church (aka IHBC). We are glad you're interested in visiting our church. We hope you join us at a weekend service and that you'll choose to make this your home church.

How should I dress?
Comfortably! Come casual or dress up. People wear anything from jeans to dresses and sport coats.

How do I get there?
IHBC is located at 10220 Eastfield Road (just east of Hwy 115) in Huntersville, NC 28078. See map.

Where should I park?
We have guest parking spaces near the entrance to the Worship Center. There are also handicapped parking spaces in front of the church. And we have spaces for new and expectant moms in front of our Children's Wing to the left of the Chapel. Our parking attendants will be able to assist you if needed.

Where are the services held?
Our 8:30 service is traditional in style and is held in the Chapel. The 11:00 contemporary service is held in the Worship Center which is the door on the right off the front side of the building.

Where do I enter the building?
You may enter through the Chapel for the 8:30 service and through the Worship Center doors for the 11:00 service.  Or you can enter through the children's wing doors next to the chapel if you have a child to leave in childcare.  Our ushers and greeters are all there to greet you and help you find your way. Also once inside, we ask you to visit our Connect Center, located in the lobby outside the Worship Center, before you leave for the day so that we can offer you more information on the church.

What's available for my kids?
During worship services, secured and loving childcare is available for infants through kindergarten age in our children's wing.  Also, during the 11:00 service, 1st and 2nd Graders are invited to participate in our children's worship called Godly Play in room 304. Please take your child to the Children's Welcome Center in the children's wing. Children's bulletins and crayons are available in the foyer for children who will remain in the worship services. Sunday School is available for children (as well as adults) during the 9:45 Sunday School hour.

I have a teen!  What's for them?
IHBC has a very full and active Student Ministry.  On Sunday mornings students (grades 7-12) meet for Cafe Time followed by a time of teaching and discussion. Visit the Student Ministry website for more information.

What is the music like?
The music at the 8:30 service features a choir and includes hymns and songs of praise with piano and organ. The 11:00 service's music is provided by a band and lead singers. Both services include other worship elements such as video and drama when appropriate.

What is the message like?
Most of the messages will be given by our senior pastor, Todd Marlin.  Pastor Todd focuses his messages on scripture and how to apply it to real life issues. We want you to be able to say that what we talked about on the weekend gave you something that could help you during the week: in your family, at your work, in your life.

Will I be "put on the spot" if I visit?
No, we want you to feel comfortable here. No one will make you stand up and identify yourself or wear a nametag or anything else that would single you out as a guest. Our goal is that you would not feel like a visitor, but a welcomed guest.  We do hope that you visit our Connect Center so we can meet you and give you an informational packet about IHBC. And we do ask you to fill out a information card so that we can get some information that may help us to serve you better in the future.

Do you offer Sunday School?
Yes, IHBC offers Sunday School for children and youth at 9:45 am as well as Bible Study Small Groups for adults.

Who is the Pastor and who else is on staff?
