Health & Wellness

Welcome to the IHBC Health & Wellness page!

Physical and spiritual healing was a large part of Jesus’ earthly ministry and He charged the disciples with continuing His healing ministry. Healing and the church have long been connected throughout history. The Health and Wellness Ministry at IHBC is focused on promoting health and wholeness within our church and community.  We encourage parishioners to not only care for their physical bodies but to also seek emotional and spiritual wellness.

As a part of our health ministry, IHBC has a volunteer parish nurse serving the congregation. Parish nursing, now known as faith community nursing, is recognized as a nursing specialty by the American Nurses Association in which the nurse specializes in two areas—professional nursing and spiritual care. If you need any health information or would like to know more about health ministry, please contact IHBC’s Parish Nurse, Lynne Golie.

LEAP for JOY is a part of health ministry at IHBC which focuses on promoting physical, mental and spiritual well-being in the lives of our senior adults. Many programs are offered throughout the year, usually before or after the monthly JOY Ministry luncheons, the first Thursday of the month.

Live Abundantly

Live Abundantly is a program designed by the Faith Community Health Ministry to help individuals make changes that will lead to a healthier, more abundant life.  It is not too late to join this year’s program.  The first step is to sign up and get your wallet card to keep track of your progress.  Each month, you will get information by mail or email about one goal that you can reach to improve your overall health.  To participate in the Life Abundantly program, you can contact Lynne Golie, at 704-766-0257 or by email.

IHBC sponsors several blood drives throughout the year and encourages parishioners to give the precious gift of life through their blood donations.  Each donation has the potential to save three lives.
