How to Trust God When You’re Afraid
What do you do when fear makes going backward feel safer than moving forward? In Exodus 14, Israel stands trapped between the Red Sea and the Egyptian army. Freedom is in front of them, but fear has them looking back toward the very slavery God delivered them from. Moses tells them, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm… The Lord will fight for you.” In this message, Pastor Mathew Hargett looks at how our past, pain, addictions, failures, and fears can convince us that change is impossible. But the God who delivered Israel is still the God who sees, remembers, and makes a way when there seems to be no way. If you’re afraid, struggling, or tempted to give up, don’t turn back. Trust Jesus with the next step. Scripture: Exodus 14:10–14; Hebrews 3:1–6; Hebrews 4:14–16
